Banana Cake

 Easy Banana Cake


 


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 150 g (¾ cup) sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 120 g (½ cup) melted butter
  • 200 g (1 ⅔ cups) flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 100 g (½ cup) chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Mash the bananas with a fork until smooth.

  3. In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the melted butter and vanilla extract (if using), and mix well.

  4. Add the banana purée to the egg mixture and stir until combined.

  5. In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  6. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. If using nuts, fold them in now.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.


Tips

  • Add spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or dried fruits for a richer texture.
