Homemade Margherita Pizza
Ingredients (for 4 servings)
For the dough:
- 500g flour
- 300ml warm water
- 10g fine salt
- 3g fresh yeast (or 1g dry yeast)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pinch of sugar
For the topping:
- 400g peeled tomatoes (or homemade tomato sauce)
- 250g mozzarella
- Fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
1. Preparing the dough
Start by dissolving the yeast in a little warm water with a pinch of sugar. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, mix the flour with the salt, then add the yeast, water, and olive oil. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rest under a damp cloth for 2 hours.
2. Preparing the tomato sauce
Blend the peeled tomatoes with a pinch of salt and a drizzle of olive oil. Let it rest to allow the flavors to blend.
3. Shaping the pizza
Preheat your oven to 250°C (480°F). Roll out the dough into a thin disk on a floured surface. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on the dough, leaving a small edge for a crispy crust.
4. Adding the toppings and baking
Tear the mozzarella into pieces and distribute it evenly over the pizza. Add a few fresh basil leaves for a final touch.
Bake for 7 to 10 minutes, until the crust is golden and the mozzarella is melted.
Enjoy!
Once out of the oven, serve immediately with a drizzle of olive oil and, if desired, a sprinkle of grated parmesan. Enjoy this homemade pizza with its authentic and balanced flavors.
